Take your assigned training

Find what you have been assigned, work through a module, pass the knowledge check and keep your certificate.

PublicUpdated October 6, 2026

Your organization assigns short security modules in HRS Learn. Each one is a few lessons and, usually, a knowledge check at the end. Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and come back.

Find what you've been assigned

  1. Sign in to HRS Learn. The address is learn.humanriskshield.com, unless an IT provider runs HRS for your organization and gave you a different one. See Trouble signing in if you get stuck.
  2. Your dashboard, My security, shows what is waiting under To do, with the most urgent item first.
  3. For the full list, open My training. Each item shows its status: Assigned, In progress, Due today, Overdue or Completed.

You'll also get an email when something new is assigned, and reminders 3 days and 1 day before it is due, then 3 and 7 days after if it is still open.

Work through a module

  1. Select Start (or Resume if you have begun). The module opens at the first lesson you haven't finished.
  2. Work through each lesson, then select Complete lesson. Some lessons ask you to tick a box confirming you've read and understood them, or to answer a question in the lesson, before you can move on.
  3. Lessons open in order. You can go back to any lesson you've finished, but you can't skip ahead.

Lessons can be reading, video, interactive exercises or short scenarios. Where a lesson has a transcript, you'll find it under Transcript in the lesson and on the module's Resources tab.

Take the knowledge check

The knowledge check opens after the last lesson. The module page tells you the pass mark.

  • If you don't pass, you'll be shown what to review and can select Retake quiz. Your organization may limit the number of attempts; if you run out, contact your admin.
  • If an attempt is interrupted, it picks up where you left off.
  • Once you've passed, the knowledge check can't be retaken.

Some modules finish with one last step: confirm you've completed the training, then select Acknowledge & finish.

Get your certificate

You earn a certificate when you pass the knowledge check, or score at least 80% on a module that has no knowledge check. You'll get an email when it's issued.

  1. On My training, select View certificates.
  2. Open the certificate and select Print / save PDF.
  3. In your browser's print dialog, choose Save as PDF to keep a copy.

The certificate is your personal copy. It is not a public verification link.

Start a module again

To go through a module again, open it and choose to start over. Your lesson progress is cleared, but your certificate and best score are kept.
