FAQ

Plans and billing questions

How plans, seats, add-ons, invoices and cancellation work in HumanRisk Shield.

PublicUpdated October 6, 2026

Current prices and terms are on humanriskshield.com/pricing. If you signed an order form, it takes precedence over anything here.

What plans are there?

Two: Essential and Shield Pro, both priced per active user per month. Shield Pro adds the deeper features, such as targeted training audiences, Smart Reinforcement, AI content tools and the full ShieldScore dashboard. HRS Triage and HRS Exposure are add-ons priced separately.

Annual billing costs less than paying monthly for twelve months. The pricing page has the current figures.

Where do I see my plan and invoices?

In HRS Learn, under Settings → Billing & plan (/admin/billing). The chip in the top bar also shows your plan and links there. The billing page lists recent invoices, the upcoming one and how many seats you're using.

What counts as a seat?

An active person enrolled in your training and risk program. Untick Enroll in training & risk program for service accounts, shared mailboxes and outside consultants so they don't count.

What happens if we go over our seats?

Nothing stops. Your licensed seats are a minimum, not a cap: people above it can still be added and are billed at the actual count. CSV imports warn you when they would take you over, but don't block you.

Why can I see features we haven't bought?

On purpose. A feature above your plan shows that it isn't included and links to the plans, rather than disappearing, so you can see what you'd get.

How do we pay?

By card, entered in a form inside HRS Learn, or by invoice where your agreement allows it. If an MSP manages HRS for you, you're billed through them: your billing page says so, and the plan button becomes Request a change, which goes to your MSP.

How do we change plans?

From Billing & plan. If you're billed through an MSP, use Request a change and they'll handle it.

What happens if we cancel?

Canceling is on the billing page and asks for a reason and a typed confirmation. The page shows exactly what follows for your organization:

  1. Billing stops straight away.
  2. For 30 days everyone can still sign in and see their records, but nothing new can be started: no new assignments, campaigns or newsletters.
  3. After 30 days sign-in ends. Your data still exists, and an admin can still download exports for a further period before it is archived.
  4. You can reactivate at any point in that window and keep everything.

Download a full export before you cancel, from /account/export. See Security and privacy questions for how data is deleted afterwards.

Is there a free trial?

Plans don't come with a public free trial. You can start with the free self-assessment, ask for a measured phishing baseline, or try a one-time exposure scan of your domain. Ask your HRS contact about an evaluation.

Can we buy through our IT provider?

Yes. Many organizations get HumanRisk Shield through an MSP, which manages it and bills you directly.
